Olympic Sports Golf – The Best Sport

There’s an association happening to make one of the best sports “Golf” as an Olympic sport by the year 2016. The expression “Olympic movement” is silent.  In every event,

Rugby and golf are the wonderful two sports that made their Olympic introductions at the 2nd modern entertainments in Paris in 1900. In 1924, Golf was played St Louis Games, and 15-a-side Rugby was introduced in Paris Olympics, as a last appearance. Rugby will be set up as a 4 day 7 – a- side tournament and Golf will be organized for 12 men’s and women’s team. Also golf will commence 72 hole strike play with 60 players in each team both for men and women. It will be an interesting and dynamic tournament. The IOC will review this tournament status in the year 2017 and make these sports a part of Olympics soon.

Golf and rugby were introduced and focused by the administrative board in August, at the cost of 5 other sports that were separated softball, baseball, karate, squash, and roller sports. The selection process here was not supported by some IOC members, who wished to put 7 sports in one assembly together. Senior member of Canadian association complained as to why these two sports were voted to be in Olympics amongst the other best 5.  Many others voted these 5 games out for the two entertaining sports because these sports were best suitable for a level like Olympics.

Also on the selection process Pound said, It’s not a fair decision when we look at the other 5 games, its decided the way you want and its not a clear process”  There was lot of controversy regarding the selection of these two games for Olympics.  After that a new selection program was set up where IOC failed to agree as to which 2 sports should be added to 2012 sports program setting apart the London games with 26 sports instead of 28 sports generally.

The new selection system was put in place after the IOC failed to agree on which two sports should be added to the 2012 program, leaving the London Games with 26 sports instead of the usual 28. A similar failure this time would have been a blow to Rogge and the executive board.

After IOC failed to agree Golf faced a lot of issues. There were lot f tough questions raised to IOC members about the higher cost of the sports, some topmost well-known sports club don’t allow women players, etc…etc

This is how the controversy begun with the decision of the Sports to be played in Olympics. But as many others agreed with the decision of being golf and rugby played in Olympics? Many of them love these two sports and are looking forward to become a part of the dynamic tournament in the Olympics in 2017. Now golf is recognized as “The Olympic sports golf
